RESOLUTION NO. 05-14-A

A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF TAOS ESTABLISHING A ROADWAY PROGRAM COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW MEXICO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION.

Whereas, the State of New Mexico Legislature has allocated funds to the local government for the purpose of construction and improving public roads, highways, streets and drainage.

Whereas, the New Mexico Department of Transportation has advised the Town of Taos to submit a resolution with the scope of proposed work, preliminary estimates and the funding amount; and

Whereas, The Cooperative Agreement requires a twenty-five percent (25%) match to the New Mexico Department of Transportation share of seventy-five percent (75%); and

Whereas, The Town Council desires to enter into a Cooperative Agreement for the improvement of various local streets located within the Town of Taos Corporate limits.

Whereas, this resolution will be the authorization from the Town Council to enter into a Cooperative Agreement with the New Mexico Department of Transportation to provide matching funds for the road and drainage improvements in the Town of Taos as set out in attachment "A" (project statement, scope of work and vicinity map).

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Taos that

The Mayor or Town Manager has the authority as agent for the Town to enter into a Cooperative Agreement with the New Mexico Department of Transportation and the Town shall provide matching funds in the amount of twenty-five percent (25%) and set aside this amount for Fiscal Year 2005-2006 in its budget as further described in attachment "A".

Passed, adopted and approved, this 19th day of July, 2005 at the regular meeting of the Taos Town Council.
