TOWN OF TAOS

RESOLUTION NO. 05-36

A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL AUTHORIZING 5 FREE SWIM DAYS TO THE PUBLIC DURING THE GRAND OPENING OF THE NEW SWIMMING POOL.

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Town Council to ensure that the citizens of Taos have a place to swim.  The new swimming pool will provide a new fun and memorable experience to all who visit.  With this in mind, we would like authorization to waive entry fees during the Grand Opening and for four additional days; and

WHEREAS, the community is very excited about the opening of the new swimming pool and we would like to provide five days of swimming to them at no cost; and

WHEREAS, the citizens of Taos recognize the vital role of swimming in relation to good physical and mental health and enhance the quality of life for all people; and

WHEREAS, swimming pools and aquatics programs touch the lives of individuals, families, groups, and the entire community, which has a positive impact upon the social, economic, health and environmental qualities of our community; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Taos is extremely proud of the new swimming pool and aquatic programs that will be offered to the community, providing a healthy place to recreate, a place to learn and grow, to swim, build self-esteem, confidence and a sense of self-worth, which contributes to the quality of life in our community;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE TOWN OF TAOS: free swimming will be provided to the public during the Grand Opening of the new swimming pool.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 19^TH DAY OF JULY 2005 AT THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE TOWN CONCIL
