Council Member Pascualito Maestas

Elected to a term March 2018 - March 2022

Pascualito Maestas is a graduate of Taos High School, a United States Navy Veteran (Honorably Discharged at the rank of Yeoman Petty Officer Third Class), and a graduate of the University of South Florida with academic degrees in Economics and International Studies. He will enroll at the University of North Dakota in the fall of 2018 to pursue a Master’s of Science in Economics.

After returning home, he began a career in the nonprofit sector working for Rocky Mountain Youth Corps, DreamTree Project, and Taos Alive for several years before taking a position teaching mathematics and economics at Taos High School. Following a stint in the public education system, Pascualito will begin working for Not Forgotten Outreach as Program Director for the newly created NFO Veterans Corps developing sustainable agriculture, job training, and business plan development for veterans and veteran families.

Pascualito’s hobbies include spending time with his wife and son, Leeandra and Sol. He also enjoys listening to the family’s vinyl record collection (especially the Beatles and Pink Floyd) and is making an attempt to rekindle his passion for playing guitar and writing music (despite an ever-increasing work load). If you catch him on a day off, he will probably be wearing converse and a T-shirt of a favorite band or musician.
