Taos Halloween Community Event COVID Style

A FREE AND SAFE GRAB AND GO EVENT

The Town of Taos, Merchant Community and our Non-profit Organizations are hosting a HUGE COVID-19 (Coronavirus) safe FREE drive-through Grab and Go Halloween Event for children of all ages along Civic Plaza Drive.  The presence and spread of COVID-19 has affected us all, particularly our families with children. 

 

Halloween bags filled with goodies will be handed out during this year’s drive-through Halloween Event to the first 2,500 children on Sunday, October 31, 2021, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm or until all bags have been given out.  The bags will be handed out on Civic Plaza Drive using COVID-safe practices.  Gloved and masked Town staff and volunteers will be on hand to distribute the Halloween goodie bags.  All children must attend with an adult and participants must remain in their vehicles at all times; no pedestrian traffic will be permitted.  Children do not need to be in costume to receive a bag. 

 

Civic Plaza Drive will be closed from 9:00am to 7:00pm for the Grab and Go event; however, businesses and homeowners will be allowed limited access and secure parking. The entrance to the Grab and Go will be a special lane on the southbound side of Paseo del Pueblo Norte on the corner of Civic Plaza Drive and Paseo del Pueblo Norte. Once you have received your goodie bag, vehicles will then exit at the corner of Camino de la Placita and Civic Plaza Drive.  Civic Plaza Drive will be one-way traffic only for this event.  There will be no parking allowed along Civic Plaza Drive and on the southbound side of Paseo del Pueblo Norte, starting north from El Pueblito Lodge down to Civic Plaza Drive during the day on Sunday, October 31, 2021.

 

Judy Esquibel, Town of Taos Community Events Coordinator, would like to thank everyone in advance for helping with this year’s Halloween Event during this difficult time given all the hardships our community continues to experience.  Thank you for joining us to ensure that our children are not forgotten.  This event is made possible because of the many volunteers, staff, merchants, business owners, non-profit organizations, police, fire and sponsors that helped make it happen.  We are a huge team, working together to bring the community an important event with a free and fun filled Halloween goodie bag, in a safe environment, in a creative and Covid style.
