Touch A Truck
The Town of Taos Community Events and the Taos Youth & Family Center invite you to join us in celebrating the 20th Annual Town of Taos Touch-A-Truck! The event will take place at the Taos Youth & Family Center located at 407 Paseo del Canon East on Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
Come climb into your favorite big rig, police car, fire truck, construction truck and many other vehicles! ALL vehicles will be available for hands-on Inspection – Exploration – and an opportunity to talk to the operators and drivers!
The first 400 children will receive a free swag bag filled with goodies.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY INCLUDE:
- Army National Guard Counter Drug Task Force sponsoring the Climbing “Rock” Wall
- Centinel Bank of Taos sponsoring the free snow cones
- Lewis Vending sponsoring the free billiards for the day
- Optimist Club of Taos hosting the free barbequed hot dogs and refreshments
- Taos Alive sponsoring free face painting
- Taos Lions Club sponsoring Tio Vivo flying Jenny
- TriState CareFlight Helicopter on hand (provided there are no emergencies)

State of NM Human Service Department providing an informational booth helping families learn about benefits they can apply for
Taos County Crimestoppers providing an informational booth about criminal justice and crime prevention
Taos County Democratic Party providing a “color a truck” booth
Taos County DWI Program providing an anti-DWI informational booth including Fatal Vision Googles (when worn the participants get a perception of an individual that had been drinking)
Taos Experience Realty providing a Ride the Pony booth (large sized rocking horse for kids/adults)
Taos MVD Quick/Money Now providing an information booth with their local services
Taos Swim Club information booth
Twirl providing a craft activity booth with popsicle sticks
UNM-Taos providing an informational booth and a prize spin wheel booth
VITALANT, formerly known as United Blood Services providing a blood drive
Walgreens providing give-a-ways and recruitment booth
YDI Taos County Head Start/Early Head Start informational booth with give-a-ways
