[ARCHIVED] Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration

The Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration is Friday, March 6, 2020 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Taos Youth & Family Center for children of all ages.  The first 300 children attending the Birthday Celebration will receive a free reading bag and a free children’s book (while supplies last). The schedule is as follows:  Reading of “The Cat in the Hat” by Melissa Quintana, Taos Municipal Schools SRCL Grant Literacy Coach, Reading of NEA’s Read Across America Proclamation by a Representative of the Mayor’s Office, Sing Happy Birthday to Dr. Seuss and enjoy Birthday Cookies and Taos Academy of Performing Arts (A.P. Arts) Dance Demonstration/Lesson focused on Dr. Seuss story “My Many Colored Days” at 3:00pm.  

Ongoing activities include Balloon Animals, Activity Table, Bowling, Face painting, Dr. Seuss Themed Bookmarks, Crafty fun with Twirl and a Dr. Seuss 1 Fish, 2 Fish activity with Paso a Paso Children Count.  Special guests will be The Cat in the Hat, The Grinch, and Thing 1 and 2.  You may purchase candy and drinks for $1.00, pizza slices and pretzels with cheese for $3.00 and nachos for $4.00.  Proceeds will benefit Our Lady of Guadalupe Youth Group.
